GPRC5D CAR-T FOR
MULTIPLE MYELOMA
GPRC5D-targeting is the leading next-line option for myeloma after BCMA therapy failure β independent of BCMA expression, it works even when BCMA has been lost.
What Is GPRC5D?
GPRC5D is a protein expressed on myeloma cells but largely absent from most normal tissues β making it an attractive target independent of BCMA expression.
Independence from BCMA
After BCMA-directed therapy, myeloma cells often downregulate BCMA. GPRC5D is maintained in most post-BCMA relapse settings β offering a viable next target without cross-resistance.
Available Therapies
Talquetamab (Talvey): GPRC5D x CD3 bispecific β FDA/EMA approved after β₯4 prior lines. GPRC5D CAR-T: Phase I/II trials in China. BCMA+GPRC5D dual-target CAR-T also in trials.

Frequently Asked Questions
About GPRC5D Therapy
Can I have GPRC5D therapy if I have already had BCMA CAR-T?
Yes β this is one of the primary indications. After BCMA CAR-T relapse, GPRC5D is typically still expressed. Talquetamab is commercially available; GPRC5D CAR-T trials in China are also enrolling post-BCMA populations.
What are the distinctive side effects of talquetamab?
Talquetamab causes skin and nail changes and dysgeusia (taste changes) due to GPRC5D expression in oral mucosa and skin. These are usually manageable. CRS is less severe than with CAR-T. GPRC5D CAR-T has a similar CRS/ICANS profile to BCMA CAR-T.
How CancerFax Helps
CancerFax is a specialist cancer access and patient-navigation platform. We help patients and families understand their options, organise medical records, coordinate hospital communication, and support cross-border treatment planning where appropriate.
We help collect and organise reports, scans, pathology, biomarker results, and treatment history for structured case review.
We communicate with hospitals or trial teams to assess whether a case may be suitable for further screening.
We support appointment coordination, document submission, translation, and direct communication with international departments.
For international patients, we help with practical coordination β travel planning, hospital admission guidance, and local support.
If this option is not suitable, we help explore other relevant treatments, clinical trials, or advanced care pathways.
From inquiry through to follow-up, our coordinators provide a single point of contact for the family.
CancerFax does not guarantee treatment access, eligibility, or clinical outcome. Our role is to help patients access accurate information, structured review, and appropriate specialist pathways.
