QUESTIONS TO ASK
ABOUT NGS TESTING
Prepared questions produce better information. The questions below direct the NGS results conversation toward what you need to know -- not just what you would receive in a standard briefing.
Questions Organised by What You Are Trying to Find Out
Is the Testing Picture Complete?
Was comprehensive genomic profiling done, or single/limited gene testing? Did the panel include TMB and MSI assessment? Was the tissue sample adequate? Should RNA sequencing be added to check for gene fusions the DNA panel might miss?
What Do the Specific Findings Mean?
Which findings are Tier I or Tier II? Is there an FDA-approved therapy for this alteration in my cancer type? Is there a tumour-agnostic approval? Are any mutations acquired resistance mutations from prior treatment?
What Happens from Here?
Should this case go to a molecular tumour board? What clinical trials are currently enrolling for my profile -- not the report list, but currently enrolling specifically? Are there basket trials open to my alteration regardless of cancer type?
Looking Forward
Should comprehensive NGS be repeated at disease progression and with what timing? If liquid biopsy was used: what alterations might it have missed? Any finding suggesting a possible germline mutation: what is the process for germline testing?

How CancerFax Helps
CancerFax is a specialist cancer access and patient-navigation platform. We help patients and families understand their options, organise medical records, coordinate hospital communication, and support cross-border treatment planning where appropriate.
We help collect and organise reports, scans, pathology, biomarker results, and treatment history for structured case review.
We communicate with hospitals or trial teams to assess whether a case may be suitable for further screening.
We support appointment coordination, document submission, translation, and direct communication with international departments.
For international patients, we help with practical coordination — travel planning, hospital admission guidance, and local support.
If this option is not suitable, we help explore other relevant treatments, clinical trials, or advanced care pathways.
From inquiry through to follow-up, our coordinators provide a single point of contact for the family.
CancerFax does not guarantee treatment access, eligibility, or clinical outcome. Our role is to help patients access accurate information, structured review, and appropriate specialist pathways.
