Weidong Han
MD, PhD
Prof. Weidong Han is the Director of the Department of Bio-therapeutics at the Chinese PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital) in Beijing, and one of China's most influential figures in CAR-T and adoptive cell therapy. His clinical and research work focuses on engineered T-cell therapies for blood cancers and selected solid tumours.
Prof. Han has built one of China's earliest and most productive cell-therapy programmes, leading first-in-human and early-phase trials of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. His team developed bispecific CD19/CD22 CAR-T therapy for relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and CART19/20 approaches for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. He has extended CAR-T into harder-to-treat areas, including GPC3-targeted CAR-T for hepatocellular carcinoma and allogeneic, gene-edited (TCR-knockout) CAR-T platforms. Prof. Han is the corresponding author of the widely cited national review on the clinical development of CAR-T cell therapy in China, and his published work has been cited more than 15,000 times. He continues to serve as principal investigator on multiple active cell-therapy clinical trials at the 301 Hospital.
CancerFax can coordinate medical-report review and consultation support for international patients interested in advanced cell therapy options, subject to hospital availability and case acceptance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Prof. Weidong Han
CancerFax can coordinate medical-report review and consultation support for international patients seeking an opinion from Prof. Han at the Chinese PLA General Hospital in Beijing, subject to hospital availability and case acceptance.
Prof. Han specialises in CAR-T and TCR-T cell therapy and adoptive cell therapy. His focus includes B-cell lymphoma and leukaemia, relapsed or refractory blood cancers, and selected solid tumours such as GPC3-positive hepatocellular carcinoma.
CAR-T cell therapy uses a patient's own immune cells, re-engineered to recognise and attack cancer cells. It is most established for certain relapsed or refractory blood cancers. Suitability depends on the diagnosis, prior treatment, and specific biomarkers, and requires expert review of complete medical records.
Submit your medical reports through CancerFax. The CancerFax team will review the documents, prepare the case for submission, and coordinate the next steps with the hospital, subject to availability and case acceptance.
A second-opinion request can be submitted through CancerFax with the patient's pathology reports, imaging, treatment history, and relevant biomarker results. The final consultation format and availability depend on the doctor's institution.
Prof. Han is a principal investigator on several cell-therapy clinical trials at the Chinese PLA General Hospital. Trial eligibility is strict and decided by the trial team. CancerFax can help review whether a patient's case may be relevant for assessment, but trial access can never be guaranteed.
