Dr. Shailesh V. Shrikhande is one of India's foremost surgical oncologists specialising in gastrointestinal and hepato-pancreato-biliary cancers. He currently serves as Director of GI and HPB Cancer Surgery at Gleneagles Hospital, Parel, Mumbai, Chief Executive of the Tata Cancer Care Foundation, and Officer on Special Duty at Tata Memorial Centre.

With over 25 years of dedicated experience in digestive cancer surgery, Dr. Shrikhande spent 15 years leading GI and HPB surgery services at Tata Memorial Hospital, including serving as Head of GI and HPB Surgery from 2010 to 2025 and Deputy Director from 2018 to 2025. He completed advanced pancreatic surgery and research training at the University of Bern and the University of Heidelberg, from which he holds a Dr. med degree.
