Dr. Sangeeta Goswami is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, with a joint appointment in the Department of Immunology. She is also a Member of the James P. Allison Institute โ€” the immunotherapy research hub co-founded by Nobel Laureate Dr. James Allison. With over 23 years of clinical and research experience, she is a recognised expert in kidney cancer, bladder cancer, and prostate cancer, with specialised expertise in immunotherapy and epigenetic regulation of immune responses.

Dr. Goswami completed her MBBS at Gauhati Medical College in Assam, India, before moving to the United States for doctoral training in Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine (PhD, 2009). She subsequently completed her clinical residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and her Haematology-Oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center (2016). Since joining MD Anderson faculty in 2016, she has risen to a tenured Associate Professorship (2024), leading the Goswami Laboratory โ€” a translational research group focused on epigenetic pathways that govern response and resistance to immune checkpoint therapy.
