MD, Chief Physician, Professor of Oncology

Prof. Lin Shen is a leading gastrointestinal medical oncologist with more than four decades of clinical and research experience in digestive-system cancers. She is Director of the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology and Director of the Phase I Clinical Trial Ward at Peking University Cancer Hospital & Institute in Beijing, and Director of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Cell and Gene Therapy for Solid Tumors.

Prof. Shen is internationally recognised for her work in gastric cancer, with a focus on precision treatment of advanced and difficult-to-treat disease. Her clinical and research interests span chemotherapy, HER2-targeted therapy, PD-1 and PD-L1 immunotherapy, biomarker-guided treatment, early-phase drug development, and emerging cellular therapies such as CLDN18.2-directed CAR T-cells. She has served as leading principal investigator for more than 100 national and international clinical studies, contributed to 16 approved drug indications, and helped shape updates to more than 40 clinical-practice guidelines. She has published over 250 papers as first or corresponding author in journals including Nature, The Lancet, JAMA, BMJ and Nature Medicine. She graduated from Xuzhou Medical College in 1984 and Beijing Medical University in 1995, and trained at the U.S. National Institutes of Health in 2000.
